Allergy to cats

My parents have 5 dogs(4 Toy Poodle and 1 Yorkshire Terrier) and 2 cats at my family home. They are very cute. I like cats better than dogs, but I developed an allergy to cats last year. I was very shocked by that. When I touched a cat, greenish mucus was running from my nose and I couldn't stop giving a sneeze. I wanted to buy a cat in the future, but I gave up the idea of keeping a cat because I am worried about my allergy to cats, so I want to keep a large-sized dog like a Golden Retriver in the future because my dogs are so small.
