My favorite music
My favorite music is American music. I have liked Avril Lavigne in particular since I was a junior high school student. Her singing voice is very cool. She is very popular all of the world. She made her debut in society at 17. I have three album of her. My favorite song is When you're gone. I want to go to her live concert in the future. And I like Rock. I often listen to Rock music, Bon Jovi, Green Day, Eminem and so on. I like Nickelback in particular. This group is very nice, but my friends don't know about them. I was shocked by it. Essay 2-02a: Language Learning Experience
I had learned three languages, Japanese, English and French. I will tell you about how to study these languages.
First, I will tell you about how to study Japanese. When I was a high school student, I learned Japanese classics, Chinese classics and kanji. I thought Chinese classic is more difficult than Japanese classic. I have learned Japanese classic since I was a junior high school student, but I was very weak in it. I took an achievement test of Japanese classics every week. And Chinese classic is also difficult for me. It is difficult for me to read Chinese classics in particular. By the way, I have learned kanji since I was an elementary schoolchild. I have learned calligraphy, so I was good at kanji when I was a high school student. Sometimes, I forget how to write kanji, because there are many kinds of kanji. I want to take a certification examination of kanji in the near future.
Next, I have learned English since I was a junior high school student. When I was a junior high school student, I learned basic English grammar and vocabulary at the school. And I took private lessons in English once a week. When I was a high school student, I learned grammar and a lot of words for the national center test for university admission. I took an English vocabulary test every week. I improved my reading comprehension by classes, but I could't speak English fluently. I thought classe of high school isn't suited for speaking English. By the way, I am studying English by reading books, watching movies and listening foreign musics now. I participated in the homestay program in this summer. This experience improved my listening skill. I will take TOEIC and TOEFL in the near future, so I am studying English vocabulary now.
Finally, I have learned French last year. I thought French is more difficult than English, because French has a male noun and a female noun. And it was very difficult for me to pronounce French vocabulary. I studied French for one year.

My favorite place is TSUTAYA. TSUTAYA is a shop with three floors plus one basement level. There is a lot of shops in it, book shop, rental shop, game center and so on. I usually go there to buy comic books or rent DVDs or CDs once a week. I' m going tell you about TSUTAYA's attraction.
First, I will tell you about the basement of TSUTAYA. There is a game center at the basement. I like to play video game very much, especially UFO catcher is my favorite game. UFO catcher is a kind of game. People can get character goods or snacks by playing it.
Second, first floor and second floor are a book, CD and DVD shop. There is a lot of books, DVDs and CDs. I often go to there to ascertain that new comic book is published. I often buy a comic book and magazine, but I don't buy CD and DVD very often. By the way, my favorite comic is ONE PIECE. I recomend you to read it. Sometimes, I buy some teaching material at there, for example, a textbook for TOEIC or TOEFL, a French textbook and so on. I want to buy a Swedish textbook now, because my host mother was a Swede, so I want to learn Swedish.

My favorite season is summer. There are some reasons why I like summer. First of all, I like swimming. I practiced swimming when I was an elementary schoolchild, and I belonged to swimming club when I was a high school student. I like swimming in the ocean. Second, there is a long vacation during summer. I was surprised that most of universities have so long summer vacation. When I was a high school student, I had only two weeks' vacation. Finally, I can return to my family home. I live in Kumamoto by myself. My hometown is Miyazaki. My parents have 5 dogs and 2 cats, so I want to return to my family home to see them. I traveled to Hokkaido with my family when I was a high school student. This was my first time to visit Hokkaido. Hokkaido was very cold. I was surprised that there was a large amount of snow. We went to several spots, especially I really enjoyed at Asahikawa zoo. This zoo was very beautiful. I have never seen such a beautiful zoo. I recommend you to go to Asahikawa zoo. My favorite club is ice hockey club. I belong to ice hockey club now. I didn't know anything about it. Every team mates are very kind. My position is goal keeper. It is very difficult for me to save the pack. We went to Kurume to practice ice hockey during spring and summer, because Kumamoto's skate rink is closed during summer. There is an ice hockey meet in November, so we practice ice hockey very hard now. I went to Kurume to practice skating three times a week during summer vacation. Go to a lake!

I heard the story of American who lived in Japan when she was a student. And she worked in Japan several years. She said " It was difficult for me to live by myself in Japan, because I didn't know Japanese tax system and where could I buy items for household use ". She prised the form of work in Japan. It was very interesting class.
After finishing the class, we went swimming at Johanna lake. I ate chicken and potatoes at there, and I walked around the lake with my friend. I didn't swim at lake, so I was speaking with him. I had a good time,but I'm tired today. ( 116words )

I learned about American Education. There are some differences between America and Japan. First of all, American has three Education styles, home school, private school and charter school. Second, in America choices are given to parents, and the choice is based on the perceived need of the children. Third, students don't have to pay the fare to use school bus. Fourth, American private school expenses are more expensive than Japanese private school expenses. A student who go to Bethel university should pay 28,000 dollars in a year. Finally, there is no examination to enter a university, but students should receive SAT or ACT test while they are high school students.
There are some reasons why many studens want to go to private school. First, private school is very safely. Second, students can receive high education at there. Finally, student's parents want their children to not drink alcoholic drinks and to not smoke.
I was very surprised by these truthes. Today's class was very useful for me . I was happy to learn about American education.
When I came home, my host's father took me to the home depot. There is a lot of huge items, and these are cheaper than Japanese items. ( 209words )

Today, Paul Reasoner( Professor of Philosophy ) taught us about Intercultural Communication. He was born in Japan, so he was good at speaking Japanese. He advised us " Write down questions when you see something that doesn't made sense " This class was very interesting and it was very useful for me.

Today, I went to Bethel university, and I was envious of this universtiy, because this university has some coffee shop. Kumamoto Gakuen universtiy has not any coffee shop. I want to build a coffee shop at my university in the near future. I had a lunch at Bethel university, I was surprised by the lunch. There was a large amout and I could drink some juices, for example, fruite juice, milk, coffee, cola and so on. This lunch was very good.
After a lunch time, we experienced Mississippi river boat cruise. I was amazed by the breadth of the river, but the river's water was dirty. I slept after a short time. Calm waves made me sleepy. I was very happy to experience the Mississippi river boat cruise.
I came back home at 5:30 p.m. After eating dinner, my host's father took me his working place, and he taught me what he does at the place. He is a telephone enginner. And we saw the sights of Minnesota. I thought Minnesota is a very beautiful state and this state is rich in nature. ( 190words )

I got up at 6:30 a.m. I picked up a taxi, and I went to Kumamoto airport by taxi. The taxi fare was 4600 yen. It was so expensive. I arrieved at Kumamoto airport at 8 a.m. I am going to go to America from now on. First of all, I left Kumamoto to Haneda. It took about 2 hours. Second, after arriving at Haneda, I went to Narita by a charterd bus. Finally, I left Narita to America at 4 p.m. This is my first visit to America and I have never been foreign countries, so I was very nervous. It took about 14 hours to arrive at Minnesota. I'm tired by a long trip, because I couldn't sleep at the airplane and I haven't experienced a long trip. I was surprised by in-flight meals.
After arriving at Minneapolis airport, I went through customs. I thought the customs authorities in America are not porticularly strict with Japanese tourists. My host family went to meet me at the airport. This act made me happy. They are very kind for me.

The Lord of the Rings
The Lord of the Ring is my favorite movie. It is very interesting and exciting movie. I have watched it three times. I will tell you about it.
It is an adventure film, and it was made in 2001. The director was Peter Jackson. It is based on the novel of J.R.R.Tolkien with the same name. It was very popular and it won some prizes like the Academy Awards and BAFTAs( British Academy of Film and Television Arts).
It is really three films. The first film is called The Fellowship of the Ring and it is about menace of the ring and organization of companions to destroy it. The second film is The Two Towers. Two towers are the villain's properties and positions. The final film is The Return of the King. It is about the victory of the battle with the villians and end of the adventure. There are lot of races in the three films. Including, Hobbits, Elfs, Wizards, Dwarfs and of course Humans. Their purpose is to destroy the ring which has very strong power, but it is too dangerous to all.
The villain is Sauron who wants the ring, so he can control everyone. The ring was originally his property, but he lost it and now wants it back. He controls races such as Orcs and Trolls and he is very powerful.
The three films are very long, but these are worth watching. Wouldn't you like to watch them when you can find the time?(254words)

After Momogaoka Music University's festival, Classic Life magazine writes about Shinichi's amazing conducting performance. After the festival, he met two people. Manabu Sakuma is a music ctitic. I watched Band of Brothers last week. I have ever watched once when I was high school children. After I watched it, I was shocked by it.
Band of Brothers is made by HBO. HBO is American network television station. This main producers were Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. They had collaborated on Saving Private Ryan. This film described World War Ⅱ, I have watched it once, there was a vivid descrition of the World War Ⅱ in this film. After I watched it, it made me sad. I thought that war is a tragic event and inhuman action.
Band of Brothers is based on a story from real life. It consists of recorded interviews with E company veterans of the 2nd Battalion. They were parachutists. They fighted with German soldiers.
I understood that the pain of war and bonds of war comrade. And I was very shocked by persecution of the Jews, but there is a lively description of persecution in this drama. To know the Holocaust, I want to watch Schindler's List in the future. It is about Oskar Schindler. He ia a German who saved a lot of Jews during the Holocaust. I respect him. And I think he is a brave and kind man.

I read Yotsubato vol.4. I wanted to read vol.3, but it was borrowed. It is written by Kiyohiko Azuma.

Vacation plans
I will go to America to learn English and participate in home stay program about a month on this summer. I have never been abroad, so I am really looking forward to going to America. But I am not good at speaking English, so I have to study English conversation untill go to America. I want to go to McDnald in America, because I am interested in American food and culture. I am very tense now. I hope that I can get along with my host family. I can't participate in club activities during I stay in America, so I want to practice hard when I go back to Kumamoto. ICE HOCKEY
I belong to ice hockey club now. Ice hockey is a winter sport, so I went into training since two months ago. Kumamoto's skate rink is closed now, so I am out of practice. I practice in Kurume's skate rink once or twice a week now. I participated in Kyushu goalies meeting in Kurume two weeks ago. It was very strict, but I think it will be very good for me. I experienced it, I wanted to make progress. My position is goalkeeper. Goalkeeper is an important and responsible position, So I want to improve my skill for team mate from now on. I want Kumamoto's skate rink opens all year. I want you to know about ice hockey. It it very exciting and interesting sport, so I recommend you to watch NHL's games.
This movie is about my favorite goalie of NHL, his name is Dominik Hasek. He is very good at saving pack. I respect him. (162words)

About my keitai
I have my keitai since I was high school student. I'm using my keitai is au. I bought it about a half year ago. It is very useful. I often use it for browsing and sending mail. My keitai has a lot of functions, for example, camera, TV, HD movie, music player and so on. I seldom use these functions, but HD movie is very convinient. My keitai can use in foreign countries such as America and Korea. I want to use iPhone, because I have iPod touch. iPhone has many functions and can download many applications into it. I read Nodame Cantabile vol.4.
OUTLINE

He could conduct the orchestra very well, but Nodame kicked out of a master class. After this humiliation, she gets set to prove that she can play the piano very well. I read Nodame Cantabile vol.3. Chiaki gets the chance to temporarily fill in for Maestro Stresemann as conductor for the S orchestra, but Stresemann defects to the A orchestra soon and challanges Chiaki to a public-performance duel. Chiaki makes effort to conduct the S orchestra. S orchestra's public-performance is successed, but A orchestra's performance was so bad, because Stresemann didn't conduct A orchestra.

My favorite movie
I like watching movies very much. I often go to a movie theater since I was elementary school student. When I was elementary school student, I liked Ghibli's films. My favorite movie was Princess Mononoke. It was written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. When I was junior high school student, my favorite movie was The Lord of the Rings. It was very interesting and exiciting. I watched it at least three times. When I was high student, my favorite movie was The Dark Knight. I liked The Joker. Heath Ledger acted the part of The Jocker, but he dead from an accidental “toxic combination of prescription drugs”. I was shocked to hear the news. I watched GREEN ZONE with my friend the other day. BR 1-08 Yotsubato
I read Yotsubato volume 2. I wanted to read it, because it was lending until last week. New character comes into existence in this book. Her name is Miura, she is Ena's friend. Ena is Yotusba's friend and she lives near Yotsuba's house. Yotsuba, Ena and Miura are going to a park to sketch. Miura makes fun of Yotsuba's sketch. So Yotsuba is very depressed.
I recommend it, because the stories are very interesting. It is easy to read. (83words)
BR 1-07 Nodame Cantabile volume 2
I read Nodame Cantabile volume 2. New two characters come into existence in this book. One of new characters is Nodame's new rival. His name is Masumi Okuyama, He is claustrophobic and a timpanist. He is also in love with Chiaki. He is a girl (?) and considers Nodame his rival. The other character is a world-famous conductor. His name is Franz von Stresemann, He starts a new orchestra at school. Chiaki finally gets his chance to conduct. But Stresemann doesn't teach Chiaki how to conduct an orchestra.
After I read it, I wanted to read volume 3. I am looking forward to reading next story. (108words)

I read Nodame Cantabile volume 1. I have watched this animation, so I want to read this comic book. It is written by Tomoko Ninomiya. Shinichi Chiaki and Megumi Noda are main characters of this book. I read Yotsubato volume 7. I want to read volume 2, but it was lending. This book is written by Kiyohiko Azuma. It has a lot of stories. Yotsuba, her father and father's friends went to a stock farm. My other classes
I take various classes. I study Japanese modern history every Thursday. I take it the fourth period. I like to learn history very much. BR 1-04 Vagabond
I read Vagabond. This is Japanese famous comic. This book is translated Japanese into English. This story is about Musashi Miyamoto's life. This book is written by Takehiko Inoue. I was surprised at pictures of it are very beautiful. Takehiko is good at drawing. I think that samurai is very cool, and I want to try to Japanese swordsmanship in the future. Music I like
I often listen to music. I like J-pops, American music and Rock. My favorite musician is Avril Lavingne. I am Avril fan from junior high school. She has nice voice and she is good at singing very much. I have iPod touch, but it broke down recently. It was a great shock to me. So, I am going to buy a new portable music player before long.
