I heard the story of American who lived in Japan when she was a student. And she worked in Japan several years. She said " It was difficult for me to live by myself in Japan, because I didn't know Japanese tax system and where could I buy items for household use ". She prised the form of work in Japan. It was very interesting class.
After finishing the class, we went swimming at Johanna lake. I ate chicken and potatoes at there, and I walked around the lake with my friend. I didn't swim at lake, so I was speaking with him. I had a good time,but I'm tired today. ( 116words )

American Education

I learned about American Education. There are some differences between America and Japan. First of all, American has three Education styles, home school, private school and charter school. Second, in America choices are given to parents, and the choice is based on the perceived need of the children. Third, students don't have to pay the fare to use school bus. Fourth, American private school expenses are more expensive than Japanese private school expenses. A student who go to Bethel university should pay 28,000 dollars in a year. Finally, there is no examination to enter a university, but students should receive SAT or ACT test while they are high school students.
There are some reasons why many studens want to go to private school. First, private school is very safely. Second, students can receive high education at there. Finally, student's parents want their children to not drink alcoholic drinks and to not smoke.
I was very surprised by these truthes. Today's class was very useful for me . I was happy to learn about American education.
When I came home, my host's father took me to the home depot. There is a lot of huge items, and these are cheaper than Japanese items. ( 209words )

Today, Paul Reasoner( Professor of Philosophy ) taught us about Intercultural Communication. He was born in Japan, so he was good at speaking Japanese. He advised us " Write down questions when you see something that doesn't made sense " This class was very interesting and it was very useful for me.
When I came home, I went shoppoing with my host's father. I was surprised by the huge supermarket. I thought an ice-cream is the same size as a bucket. ( 81words )

Today, I went to Bethel university, and I was envious of this universtiy, because this university has some coffee shop. Kumamoto Gakuen universtiy has not any coffee shop. I want to build a coffee shop at my university in the near future. I had a lunch at Bethel university, I was surprised by the lunch. There was a large amout and I could drink some juices, for example, fruite juice, milk, coffee, cola and so on. This lunch was very good.
After a lunch time, we experienced Mississippi river boat cruise. I was amazed by the breadth of the river, but the river's water was dirty. I slept after a short time. Calm waves made me sleepy. I was very happy to experience the Mississippi river boat cruise.
I came back home at 5:30 p.m. After eating dinner, my host's father took me his working place, and he taught me what he does at the place. He is a telephone enginner. And we saw the sights of Minnesota. I thought Minnesota is a very beautiful state and this state is rich in nature. ( 190words )

I got up at 6:30 a.m. I picked up a taxi, and I went to Kumamoto airport by taxi. The taxi fare was 4600 yen. It was so expensive. I arrieved at Kumamoto airport at 8 a.m. I am going to go to America from now on. First of all, I left Kumamoto to Haneda. It took about 2 hours. Second, after arriving at Haneda, I went to Narita by a charterd bus. Finally, I left Narita to America at 4 p.m. This is my first visit to America and I have never been foreign countries, so I was very nervous. It took about 14 hours to arrive at Minnesota. I'm tired by a long trip, because I couldn't sleep at the airplane and I haven't experienced a long trip. I was surprised by in-flight meals.
After arriving at Minneapolis airport, I went through customs. I thought the customs authorities in America are not porticularly strict with Japanese tourists. My host family went to meet me at the airport. This act made me happy. They are very kind for me.

Essay 1-02b: Playstation3
Websites which I chose are about Playstation3, Sony's games, because when I was high school student, I bought PlayStation3, so I like to talk about it. So I am interested in it very much. That's why I decided to search it. First of all, I tell you about PlayStation3.
The PlayStation3 is produced by Sony Computer Entertainment. The PlayStation3 was first released on November 11, 2006 in Japan, November 17, 2006 in North America. The PlayStation3 has a lot of features, Blu-ray Disc Movies, Games, PlayStaion Network, Music, Internet, Photos and Play TV. I was vey surprised that it has a lot of features. And these features are very useful to me. The PlayStation3 has a lot of softwares. For example, Final Fantasy 13, Call Of Duty Series, God Of War, Gran Turismo Series, Resident Evil 5 and so on.
Sony has four game hardwares, PlayStation, PlayStation2, PlatStation3 and PlayStation Portable. PlayStation was released on December 3, 1994. PlayStation was released on March 4, 2000. PlayStation Portable was released on December 12, 2004. PSP can play video games. It and also can watch TV. It is vert useful.
Now PlayStation3 is available a lot of countries. It is loved by many people. Sony sell it at thirty thousand yen now. The total number of sold it in Japan amounted to five million. It can play online games, so we can play video games with variou people.
I reviewed about PlayStation3. PlayStaion is very important for our life. I often use it, and I often play video games. It is necessary for my spare time. It is famous Japanese product. The Lord of the Rings
The Lord of the Ring is my favorite movie. It is very interesting and exciting movie. I have watched it three times. I will tell you about it.
It is an adventure film, and it was made in 2001. The director was Peter Jackson. It is based on the novel of J.R.R.Tolkien with the same name. It was very popular and it won some prizes like the Academy Awards and BAFTAs( British Academy of Film and Television Arts).
It is really three films. The first film is called The Fellowship of the Ring and it is about menace of the ring and organization of companions to destroy it. The second film is The Two Towers. Two towers are the villain's properties and positions. The final film is The Return of the King. It is about the victory of the battle with the villians and end of the adventure. There are lot of races in the three films. Including, Hobbits, Elfs, Wizards, Dwarfs and of course Humans. Their purpose is to destroy the ring which has very strong power, but it is too dangerous to all.
The villain is Sauron who wants the ring, so he can control everyone. The ring was originally his property, but he lost it and now wants it back. He controls races such as Orcs and Trolls and he is very powerful.
The three films are very long, but these are worth watching. Wouldn't you like to watch them when you can find the time?(254words)

I read Nodame Cantabile vol.6.

After Momogaoka Music University's festival, Classic Life magazine writes about Shinichi's amazing conducting performance. After the festival, he met two people. Manabu Sakuma is a music ctitic. He writes a column in Classic Life. Kawano is an interviewer of Classic Life. They recommend to Chiaki to study abroad after he graduate, but he don't have any plans to go abroad. He is going to graduate school. After they heard this fact, they were shocked by it. And they want to know why he isn't go study abroad . Their attitude makes he angry. In fact, Chiaki has airplane phobia and Ocean phobia. So he cant't go study abroad. He decided to make new student's orchestra with a lot of members from Nagano festival orchestra in Japan after a short time.

Band of Brothers
I watched Band of Brothers last week. I have ever watched once when I was high school children. After I watched it, I was shocked by it.
Band of Brothers is made by HBO. HBO is American network television station. This main producers were Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. They had collaborated on Saving Private Ryan. This film described World War Ⅱ, I have watched it once, there was a vivid descrition of the World War Ⅱ in this film. After I watched it, it made me sad. I thought that war is a tragic event and inhuman action.
Band of Brothers is based on a story from real life. It consists of recorded interviews with E company veterans of the 2nd Battalion. They were parachutists. They fighted with German soldiers.
I understood that the pain of war and bonds of war comrade. And I was very shocked by persecution of the Jews, but there is a lively description of persecution in this drama. To know the Holocaust, I want to watch Schindler's List in the future. It is about Oskar Schindler. He ia a German who saved a lot of Jews during the Holocaust. I respect him. And I think he is a brave and kind man.
Band of Brothers was good for me. I recommend you to watch it. A new World War Ⅱ television miniseries will start on this summer. The title is The Pacific. It describes the Pacific War. I am looking forward to watching it. (248words)

I read Yotsubato vol.4. I wanted to read vol.3, but it was borrowed. It is written by Kiyohiko Azuma.

Second story is disappointed love. Fuka's got the heartbreak. She was sad and shocked by Yotsuba's advices. Yotsuba's advices were “ Asagi's never had the heartbreak ”and “ you've got fat legs! ”. After a short while, she decided to overcome her first heartbreak. Next day, Fuka's family knew her heartbreak by THE YOTSUBA TIMES. The newspaper says “ Fuka knows heartbreak ”. Fuka's father was very disappointed at this news. Fuka was too.
I could enjoy reading it very much. I could not help laughing. Next week, I want to read vol.3 or vol.5. I recommend you to read Yotsubato. It is very interesting comic book. ( 244words )
